Here's what we did today:
Reading-Students used sticky notes to write thick and thin questions from their commitment books. Students are having difficulty writing thick questions that generate discussion because they are important to the book. An example would be, "How would you feel if . . " or "What caused . . . ". Ask your child to try some thick questions at home. They can even be about a TV show you might watch together.
Writing-We came up with better adjectives for words such as "good", "bad", and "said" and practiced using a thesaurus to find new words.
Social Studies-We learned more about the Southwest and worked on our packets.
Word Study-We spent today on grammar and discussed nouns and adjectives.
Homework:
Read!
Grammar-Many students finished, but if not they need to finish the chart of nouns and adjectives we began in class. They need to write on the chart, not in the book. Only part A of page 1 needs to be completed.
Math-WS 3.4, evens
Social Studies-Packet due tomorrow! Students who miss part of Social Studies due to Speech or Math Intervention, may have until Monday. We are playing a states and capitals game tomorrow so make sure to study!
Have a great night!

ReplyDeleteIf you go to the online Math book at eharcourtschool.com (tfourth/pass) you can print out a page from the lesson we did today on subtracting with zeros. Do 10 or so problems from that instead of the worksheet. Let me know if you have any problems!
