Economics Day!
We had a great day today learning about economics in preparation for our field trip. The students rotated through all four fourth grade rooms. Here's what they learned (in their own words!):
Mrs. Davis & Miss Bergin:
"We learned about what we need and what we want. A want is something you want, but don't need. A need is what you need to survive. We also learned about goods and services. A good is something that you can buy and a service is something you can't touch, but is something someone does for you. We played Around the World to practice learning the difference between goods, services, wants, and needs."
~Fetiol & Madisson
Mrs. Gastreich:
"We made a wallet for the Magic House and we each got to decorate our wallet. We need our wallet to put our money, library card and fishing license in the wallet. We got bags to use with our wallet."
~Miranda & Cheyenne
Mrs. Bushman:
"We learned how to deposit checks into the bank and how the bank works. We also learned about supply and demand and how to make decisions about what we buy."
~Gaurav & Nichole
Mrs. Phillips:
"We wrote letters to other students who will be at the Magic House. We learned how to write and address letters."
~Jack & Carlie
Homework:
Social Studies-The Chapter 1 test has been moved to Monday in order to have a day for review. I realize the Fall Festival is Monday, but we do have time for the test as well.
