April 3rd

Here's what we did today:
Writing-We listened to "True Colors" and students journaled about the meaning of the song.  We discussed how songs are actually like sung poems.  Students then worked on their own poetry.

Reading-Students rotated in groups to play some games to help review some reading and word study skills such as fact/opinion and synonym/antonym.

Social Studies-Students watched a video about Lincoln's life during the Civil War.

Math-Students took the metric test.

We also did some more MAP prep.

Homework:
Math-Correct test.  I ended up counting the last two problems as extra credit so no points were taken off if those were missed.  I awarded 2 points for each one of those that students got correct.  These do not need to be corrected tonight.

Social Studies-Continue to work on the first two pages of the packet.

Read and Write!

*Thank you to those who returned the signed report card today.  If you were at conferences, you do not need to sign and return.  If you were not at conferences and have not signed the report card, please do so tonight.  Thanks!

Have a good night!
