Happy Leap Day! Here's what we did today:
Writing-We did an author's buffet where students were able to read the country reports of their classmates. Tomorrow we will begin our last writing piece of 3rd quarter, a choice piece.
Reading-We went over last week's cold read and began summarizing In My Own Backyard.
Math-We learned how to turn Mixed Numbers into Decimals and the other way around. We also learned about the relationship between area and perimeter.
Homework:
Math-WS 26.4, WS 29.3--There will be a quiz on area and perimeter on Friday.
Reading-Literature circles meet tomorrow. Students are to read their assigned chapters and write down the main idea and five supporting details.
Science-Don't forget that students need to bring in a water bottle filed 3/4 of the way with cooking oil (not olive oil) by Friday. Without it, they will not be able to participate in the fun experiment!
Have a great night!
