I hope everyone had a great weekend! Here's what we did today:
Writing-Students whispered their drafts aloud to themselves in order to listen for areas that didn't sound right in terms of choppy sentences, run-on sentences, or too many repeated words. Tomorrow they will read their draft to a partner to get someone else's input.
Reading-We visited the library and students also presented their book commercials on their literature circle books. I will post the videos later this week as there are a couple of groups who had students absent and will present later.
Social Studies-We reviewed for the Chapter 5 test and also watched a short video on daily pioneer life.
Math-Today we learned about square numbers and square roots. We also reviewed for tomorrow's quiz on Chapter 18.
Homework:
Reading-Just a reminder that students should be reading for at least 20 minutes, uninterrupted, each evening.
Writing-Students need at least two writer's notebook entries this week.
Math-Correct division test. WS 16.5--all, Study Chapter 18--quiz tomorrow (Chapter 16 test is Wednesday)
Social Studies-Chapter 5 test is Wednesday and packet is due then as well. This is the last SS test of the third quarter as they will go to Science now.
**I will be sending home mid-quarter grades on Friday of this week.
Have a great night!
