Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great Spring Break! I heard about a lot of great trips and family time today! Here's what we did:
Writing-We are beginning our poetry unit and today we examined the use of sensory details in poetry.
Reading-Students visited the library. We also talked about sequencing events in a story or a non-fiction writing piece by either time order or category.
Social Studies-We are back with Social Studies and are beginning with a study of the Civil War.
Math-We went over the customary tests today. Because the 3rd quarter has ended, it is too late for students to correct their mistakes. We did this together in class. We also began a chapter on the metric system of measurement.
Word Study-For the next couple of weeks, we will be using the last half hour of the day for Word Study as well as MAP prep. Today, students took the Words Their Way assessment so I can put them in the correct groups for 4th quarter.
Homework:
Reading-All students should have a great commitment book to read.
Writing-Write two entries this week!
Math-WS 25.1, both sides
Have a great night!
*Parents, make sure to check your email regarding MAP testing. If you do not receive an email from me, please let me know. Thanks!
